When it comes to money and investing, we're not always as rational as we think we are - which is why there's a whole field of study that explains our sometimes-strange behavior. This seminar will cover some of these behavioral traits and help you avoid some of the common investing mistakes.

Estate Planning Fundamentals

No matter what your net worth, it’s important to have the basic estate plan in place. This seminar will cover the essential elements – a Will, Power-of-Attorney, and Living Will (Advanced Healthcare Directive). A discussion of trusts will also be discussed and the circumstances that might warrant the use of a trust. The seminar will also look at the cost of probate and what steps can be taken to minimize or eliminate probate costs. We will conclude with steps you can take to make sure your estate is settled smoothly and according to your wishes.

This seminar will be conducted jointly with Simon Lever & Co CPAs. It will be held at the Lancaster Country Club, 1466 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA in the ballroom.

Disaster Planning: Do You Have a Plan in Place?

What will you do in a disaster – in a situation where you can’t get in touch with family members immediately, where communications systems are down, the electricity is out and access to fuel and money is limited or impossible? Are you prepared? Disasters like 9/11 and Katrina are rare but they do remind us that having an emergency plan in place is a prudent step for all families to take. This session will cover the basic elements of a disaster plan: Communication, food and water, cash.

APPRISE – Helping with Your Health Insurance Questions

APPRISE is the State Health Insurance assistance Program for all Medicare beneficiaries and Pennsylvanians age 60 and over. APPRISE was created to help you understand your Medicare and other health insurance benefits and assist you in making sound decisions about what is best for you. During this session, an APPRISE counselor will answer your questions about Medicare, Medicaid, Medigap and other government programs. They will also explain how you can access APPRISE to take full advantage of this valuable resource.
