Energy Audit

Lighting, heating, cooling and powering our homes can take a lot of energy. We all know that there are ways to reduce our consumption without drastically effecting our lifestyle, but what are they and how much energy and dollars can they really save? In this seminar we will discuss what a home energy audit is, who provides them, and what benefits could result from taking the time to conduct your own audit.

What’s New in Long-Term Care

When a consumer buys a fire insurance policy on their home they are betting in favor of a potential risk that most probably will not occur. The number of house fires commonly encountered is rare. But if one does occur, it is a total financial catastrophe for most people. For that reason, fire insurance policies are common. In buying long-term health care, the consumer and the insurance company are engaging in a far different bet. The probability of the purchaser needing long-term health care at some time in the future is fifty percent. Understanding what a policy means and comparing the policies of different companies requires an understanding of the jargon of the insurance business. At this session, we will go over the differences in Long-Term Care policies and how to evaluate whether you need this type of insurance.
