I believe one of the main challenges facing retirees is the complexity of this stage of life. I’m here to help clients understand how investing, taxes, pensions, Social Security strategies, healthcare options before and after Medicare, estate planning, budgeting, and insurance all fit together in retirement.

Patrick joined Rodgers & Associates in 2015 after spending seven years at Vanguard. In his time there, he served as part of the management team and supervised a group responsible for one of their largest technology projects. He took a math class in high school that introduced the concept of compound interest. When he learned that consistent savings with compounded growth could accumulate a significant amount of assets, he became hooked on financial planning. He joined Rodgers & Associates because of the team’s commitment to best practices and retirement planning. He was thrilled to find a company that has gone out of its way to treat financial planning as a profession. Most advisory firms don’t have the processes in place or the data necessary to make informed recommendations. Rodgers & Associates has built this type of planning into its culture and the benefits accrue to clients every day.

Patrick chose to specialize in retirement planning to help people create a strategy that makes sense of all aspects of this important stage of life and helps them achieve their goals. Transitioning from work to retirement is reversing the flow of money from saving to spending, which can be challenging. He feels it is an honor and privilege to work with clients making this transition. Patrick has been quoted in U.S. News & World Report and AARP Magazine.

Patrick resides in Lancaster with his wife Shelly, his sons Rowan and Ian and their rescue dog Johnny. When he is not helping clients transition to retirement, you will probably find him grilling. He got hooked on the hobby out of his interest in saving and investing and enjoys finding ways to create a restaurant quality steak dinner at home for a fraction of the cost. Patrick currently serves on the Board of Directors at Lancaster Dollars for Higher Learning, which provides interest-free student loans for qualifying students from Lancaster County.
