Since becoming a financial adviser, I’ve been surprised by the pace of change in the retirement landscape. In the past five years alone, there have been significant changes to Social Security, income taxes, and retirement plan rules. With the retirement landscape in a constant state of flux, I’m committed to staying on top of these changes as they occur so I can continue to help my clients make wise decisions with their money.
Chris Hershey, CFP®, CRPC® joined the Rodgers & Associates’ team in June of 2019 with over five years of experience in the financial advice industry. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a supervisor of financial planning at eMoney Advisor®—a wealth management technology company based in Radnor, PA. Chris decided he wanted to become a financial adviser when he started to take control of his own personal finances. He was amazed at the level of complexity involved in this process and wanted to help others learn how to make smart decisions with their money. He believes advisers should work together with clients to create a plan and help them stay on track to achieve a successful retirement. He chose Rodgers & Associates because of their holistic approach to financial planning and their commitment to acting in the best interests of their clients.
Chris realizes it is difficult for people who have worked hard and saved all their lives to start spending some of their wealth in retirement. His goal as a financial adviser is to help clients develop a plan for retirement so that they can have peace of mind about their future and find fulfillment in their retirement. Without going through this planning process, retirees tend to spend a lot time and resources worrying about their retirement and whether they will have enough to achieve their goals.
Chris graduated from West Chester University in 2008 and holds a BA in History. Shortly after graduation, he moved to Guadalajara, Mexico where he taught English for 1.5 years before settling on a career in the financial services. He achieved his CFP® designation in 2016. He recently moved back to the Lancaster area with his wife and four young children. When he is not providing expert guidance to clients in retirement, he loves going on walks with his family, playing soccer and tennis, and rooting for Philly sports teams.
