As we draw to the end of another year, our thoughts are on the holidays and the dawning of a New Year. Before we rush off to start new endeavors we need to pause to think of the blessings we have received during the past year. For me, Christmas is our chance to express gratitude by giving those we love gifts. But when we think of presents by the tree we have to consider the many people who do not have the simple necessities of food, shelter and clothing. By giving to those less fortunate, we complete the circle of wealth.
Charitable giving is a natural part of wealth management. At Rodgers & Associates, charitable giving is no stranger. It is part of our business plan. Contributions to such worthy organizations as Tabor, the Food Bank and United Disability Services are just as much a part of the year as implementing new software systems. The goal of our firm is to support the truly needy among us. You can find a list of charities that Rodgers & Associates supports on our web page under the About Us; In the Community tab. We are proud of the work these charities provide. We invite you to join us in support, either through these charities or a charity of your choosing. In the December 12, 2011 Intelligencer Journal/ Lancaster New Era, you can find several pages listing various charities and how you can support those in need. Click here to see these listings.
Some of the things that are helpful in implementing a good stewardship program are deciding which organizations pull at your heartstrings. After you identify a few worthy causes you can then research the charity by requesting information or viewing their website. I am touched by the person who recently dropped a gold coin into a Salvation Army bucket with a note telling us that it is enduring love and an innate desire to help our fellow man that is truly powerful. All of us at Rodgers & Associates wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas.
